Spirit of Romo Y308, the last vessel in a fleet of nine Barso Class coastal patrol vessels for the
Danish navy. These small ships carried two officers and 8 to 12 men in total,
in well appointed cabins below the main deck. Full galley and washing
facilities were provided in the superstructure. The five cylinder two stroke
B&W Alpha diesel engine provided very reliable, easily maintained operation
with its efficient variable pitch propeller, all controlled from the Bridge.
All vessel in this class were built in accordance with Bureau Veritas Class
rules, including Ice Class requirements. Beautifully maintained by the Navy
until decommissioned in 2009, Romo is a well preserved example of her
type.
